- Shop raided as police seize £17k in cash and hundreds of illegal cigarettes: Police have seized £17k in cash and hundreds of illegal cigarettes and illicit tobacco from a shop in Leominster, West Mercia, following a police raid on Rayan Mini Market in Drapers Lane in the Midlands. The raid was prompted by community concerns about the suspected illegal sale of products at the store. Officers from Leominsters and Herefordshire Trading Standards supported the search, while Griff the tobacco detection dog was deployed to assist in searches. In total, 157 pouches of illegal hand rolling tobacco and 406 packets of cigarettes were recovered. The total duty evasion for these items has been calculated at £9,704.78. An interim closure order has been placed at the shop pending a hearing at Hereford Magistrates Court, where a further closure order is sought.3 December 20251:51 PM
- Chance to buy landmark city church closes soon: St Nicholas' Church, a Grade II Listed church in Herefordshire, has attracted interest in buying the building, which is one of the most prominent buildings in the city, aside from the cathedral. The agents have been pleased with the interest shown and are open to hearing from any other interested parties before the Expressions of Interest deadline on December 12. The church, built around 1842, could be used for worship, community facilities, arts and crafts, music or drama centre, museum, sports, or light industrial and housing. The guide prices for the church and its replacement are £275,000 and £175,000 respectively.3 December 20255:00 AM
- James Morrison Adds Extra Dates To 'Undiscovered' 20th Anniversary UK Tour Due To Demand: James Morrison has added additional dates to his UK tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, 'Undiscovered'. Additional performances will include Southend's Cliffs Pavilion on May 4 and Manchester's O2 Apollo on May 7. He has also confirmed a new show at Stockton's Globe on May 6. The tour will also feature performances at the Live At Iveagh Gardens series and the Galway International Arts Festival. Tickets go on general sale on Friday (December 5).2 December 202510:47 AM
- New facilities open after major expansion works: The expansion of the Eveson Centre in Hereford has been completed, allowing National Star to provide specialist education, therapy and support for up to 45 students. The project was partly funded by the Eveon Trust. The extension includes two new classrooms, two new personal care rooms, a multi-skills kitchen and a large amount of work. The Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Dan Powell, officially opened the extension during a special ceremony.2 December 20255:00 AM
- Casualty taken to hospital after car overturns in busy street: The crash occurred in Hereford's College Road, with one of the vehicles overturned and one person taken to hospital. The charity's sleigh has been upgraded with a satellite tracker to allow anyone to track the man in red as close to real time as possible. However, they have warned that volunteers will need to ensure the safety of all their volunteers.

Despite numerous opportunities, only the visitors managed to score a score and a long-distance penalty goal. Hereford's head coach, Dean Powell, admitted that his team started poorly and kicked away possession early on, but managed to maintain control of the game. The Luctanians had significant possession and field position throughout the first half, but Hereford struggled to maintain their position in their own half. Pete Trigg has been a member of Hereford Hospital Radio for over 10 years. Pete is a natural broadcaster and his warmth and local knowledge really inspires many to look up to him at Hospital Radio.
Pete for a number of years has acted as mentor to many of our new members who have gone on to develop their own careers, and his ability to make radio easy is something of an art.
Being patient, and generous with his time, both at the studio, and on the wards, Pete make a presenter feel at ease.
'Pete and his wife have given up huge amounts of time over many years to support HHR, the patients and the community ' wrote the person who nominated him. " In early years the presenters would go around the wards before their shows and collects requests. At weekend they would help with fund raising."
